This book doesn't disappoint, after all, it is a Seuss tale. We love Dr. Seuss in our house and every one gets read aloud to my sons with different voices, expressions, grimaces, and hand gestures. This one is one of the more fun ones to read with exciting detail. I'm hoping these moments are just as memorable to my very young children as they are to me as I don't think any childhood can be called complete without vivid memories of such colorful wacky stories. This one wasn't in our collection until we threw my son a vintage circus themed 1st birthday party. We bought this to have the guests sign with well wishes instead of bringing gifts and cards. Then, we brought it into the home library and read it with great delight. It's definitely a must have for all families!

Classic Dr. Seuss under the big top. Perfect prop for my son’s circus themed one year photo shoot.
Too long for reading in one sitting but cute with lots of imaginative images. I wish it was shorter to read aloud but the tongue-twisting lines and length of the book mean that it's best spread over several days.
I bought this item open box as a guest sign in for my sons circus bday party and was so pleasantly surprised! It was in great condition minus a few corner dings.

I have loved this book since I was a child so long ago, and now have gotten it for our first grand child for her first Christmas. This book is always fun to read. You can hardly go wrong with Dr Seuss.
When our friends became grandparents, I immediately thought of a gift for the baby - my own (now grown) kid's very favorite If I Ran The Circus. I read it so many times to them that I could recite long stretches by memory. This edition has great color (my original is now quite faded) and I am sure will be treasured by the newbie, as well as his parents.What a Classic!
My 9 year old asks me to read this book to him every single night. He loves the rhythm of it. He is generally out like a light by the time the sideshows are finished. And I love reading it to him. It's SO fun to read. I would really recommend this. And I'll be honest... I'm pretty sure my husband enjoys me reading it, too. ;)
Like "If I Ran the Zoo," a young feller (Morris McGurk), sizes up a vacant lot—actually, a junkyard—behind Sneelock's and imagines, not only tidying it up, but staging on it the greatest show on earth and beyond. A lot of delightful wordplay is this one, which builds to a comedy with a rapturous climax—whose last page, like "Zoo" and "McElligot's Pool," brings the reader back down to earth. There's a an ever-so-slight nudge in the direction of cleaning up a nasty environment, which in later Seuss books would become the theme in itself. The medium is pen and ink, with occasional fill-in colors. Charming as "The Circus" is, it was only a warm-up for the next Seuss opus, whose subject was a mean one Mr. Grinch.
