Déjà New Marketing Increase Sales with Social Media Search Marketing Email Marketing Blogs and More eBook John Bradley Jackson Reviews

Déjà New Marketing is an excellent tool for entrepreneurs looking to find up-to-date business marketing information. It covers a wide range of topics including business planning, niche marketing, social media, competition, branding, ethics, legal issues, blogging, search engine optimization, and customer service. The best part about this book is that it is made up of many short chapters, each being about two pages long, which makes it easy to reference on an on-going basis. It is written concisely and contains short stories and humor, which prevents you from wanting to put it down. I run an online service business and this book provided lots of practical tips that helped me to create big gains a much better website, a superior blog, an improved business plan, and best of all, more sales. I highly recommend it!
The Great Bible of the Business World has arrived. I understand this statement bears an awful amount of weight, but John Jackson has written a trove of useful information. He has revealed his business toolbox to the world.

Jackson is a blunt no-nonsense writer. Easy to read bullet pointed lists offer advice, step-by-step guides, and do’s and don’ts. He is successful in his attempt to ‘un-complicate’ business and simplify it like bread and butter. For those reviews that complained about the old and out dated sections on Social Media, just skip over those sections. Obviously anything written about the Web is going to become outdated the day after it is printed onto physical paper. But this is what is so great about this book, you can start anywhere and skip over whatever you already know or that doesn’t apply to you. I skipped over the sections on Billboard Advertisement and Social Media as those topics didn’t apply to our business model.

There really isn’t a beginning to end feel. You could blindly open any page and start. But beware. This book took me over a year to finish. The content is so thought provoking that it is impossible to read more than two pages without your brain racing off about how you are going to apply the advice to your own business. You really have to chew on the pages. I highly recommend taking it one page per sitting. Read a page. Shut the book. Organize and write out your thoughts. By doing this we have really transformed our business. From how we qualify and contact new customers to how we stay in contact with our existing accounts. Also, the bibliography section at the end of the book is worth the price alone. He has compiled a great list of business books that everyone should read before retirement.

This is the Guru’s guide to improving sales techniques, retaining accounts, and growing your customer base. I look forward to reading more from this author in the coming years.
This book is a great read for a variety of subjects covered in short one or two page chapters, a sort of Entrepreneur users guide that covers the basics like customer service and sales to email marketing and Facebook. I like it because someone who has done it all before writes it in a simple language.
This book was recommended to me so I bought it and read through it in 3 or 4 sittings. Now I find myself rereading parts of it as sort of a tune-up for my new business plan. I can't seem to put it away.
The author is a professor at Cal State University Fullerton that pioneered the schools first course of it's kind teaching Entrepreneurism. I wish the college I went to offered this subject, I would have stayed in school!

Definitely recommend this book!
When I first picked up this book, I was certain that I'd read the typical business book dribble coupled with big blasts of egoism. Instead, I found a book that has floated to the top of all business books, RSS feeds, whitepapers, and e-newsletters that I have ever read. Having been in business for over 16 years and a MBA to boot, it's hard to impress me much. However, I was impressed with the accuracy, clarity, and thankfully, brevity of the business topics and issues this book covered.

Chapter by chapter, the author takes the time to provide analysis, guidance, and action steps to help the reader dissect real world issues. What amazes me is that the author took the time to select appropriate quotes to tie-in to each chapter. This level of detail showed me that this author knows a lot about the topics that he discusses.

This book should be required reading for any Sales and Marketing person. I'd recommend the C-suite take the time to read this book, even if it is only the chapter on "Top Ten Marketing Mistakes". It reminded me of page 137's Old German Proverb, "Empty heads are very fond of long titles." Deja New Marketing fills the head with the right, actionable business information.
Well the author suggests starting a myspace page and looking into "face-book" midway through the book and continues on with a 2005 analysis of online marketing.

In later portions of the book he suggests some very basic social media-fu. The chapter on not having an offensive public profile is longer than his discussion of Linked In, Myspace, Twitter and "Face-book" combined.

I counted in my kindle. 2% of the book is devoted to the topics promised in the title, the rest is internet 101. Useful to anyone over 30 who is starting a new business- but I do feel very mislead and am disappointed in the book and its information.

I hate to write bad reviews, I never do it- but this book failed me. I bought a book on social media marketing and got chapters on how to name my company and design a logo?

This book would be a great "intro" to marketing but it should not be purchased by anyone as a guide or reference text for social media marketing.
Professor Jackson's book has really helped me get my business off the ground. Each tiny chapter is packed with insights and accumen that could change the way you think about your busiess and marketing approach. He distills the fundameentals down into something pure and simple that gets right to the heart of the issues. This book is worth its weight in gold.
