I bought this book for my fiance because she is a HUGE Lurlen McDaniel fan. She had me read this story too to see what her obsession is and i must say for it being far from my style it was a good story. And grabbed at the heart strings. Allot of feels for this book.

This story touched, or shall I say gripped my heart with love and sympathy. This is a beautifully written book that everyone will love, no matter what. This book choked me up in the end it sends so much felling through you. IT IS AWESOME!
I was at the bookstore one day, about 6 or 7 years ago, and I didn't know what book to pick out. So, I asked my mom to pick one out for me and she happened to pick this one. And I'm so glad she did! It's my favourite book of all times and I must have read it at least 10 times. The first time I read it, I cried! And the 9 times after that! If you haven't read this masterpiece, READ IT!
The story starts when the twins(alexis and adam who are inseperable) Visit the first grade to see what they wanted to be. adam wanted to be a fireman,and alexis wanted to help people.The twins are bacically on their own. after adam got lekuima their parents buried themselves in their work to hide the pain. alexis cant even get them to go to disney world.When adam gets sick again alexis fears her family will completly fall apart.Instead of pulling apart again they grow closer.Meanwhile, adam is taking experimental drugs,and has bonded with the younger kids.He starts a project called adams boo-boo bears.Where with the help of alexis,and friends they custimize bears for the children.Alexis refuses to belive her beloved brother will die,but is forced to. The experimenta drugs have destroyed his liver.When adam dies she feals so alone,but learns that life moves on. She will always miss her brother,and knows that only death will reunite them.
This book proves that Lurlene still has it. No writer has ever kept my attention as long as she has. In this book she writes about a set of twins, Adam and Alexis, who have a very close relationship. Alex was little when he was diagnosed with leukemia, but when he has a relapse everything in their lives seem to turn up-side-down. I have passed this book from friend to friend already and every one I've given it to has loved it. Think about it.
I am a big fan of LM's books, and this one was great as well. The plot line was the usual, a teen with so much going for him gets lukemia, loses his girlfreind, etc. But this book was unique because it was about twins. Alexis feels guilty that Adam is sick while she's heathly, she doesn't know how she'll deal with losing him because they are so close. One thing I thought was weird, though, was that there was no mention of a bone marrow transplant. In most of LM's lukemia books, the subject of a bone marrow transplant is almost always brought up, and it is always said that transplants work best between identical twins. So since Alexas and Adam were identical twins, I felt sure that she would at least be tested for the transplant. But it was never even mentioned. I found that really odd. But still, it was a really good book, and a must for LM fans.
Time Capsule follows the Senior year of a set of twins, Alexis and Adam. Their lives are going as smoothly as possible, even though their mother is never home and Alexis suspects her father of having an affair, until Adam collapses from the leukemia that had plagued him in the past.

This was an interesting book, though not quite a "wow"er. I can't say the sad part was effective enough for me, since I didn't shed a tear (which is unusual for me). However, still a great book and I reccommend it.
In Miami, Florida seventeen-year-old twins Alexis and Adam are entering their final year of high school and are invited to a first-grade reunion. When they were six, they wrote down what they wanted to do when they grew up and put it in their teacher's time capsule. Now, they're dumbfounded to read what they wrote Alexis wanted to help people and Adam wanted to be a fireman. However, that dream was shattered when Adam was struck with leukemia and the whole family fell apart.

Adam's leukemia is now in remission, but sadly the twins' parents are so busy working that they don't have much time for them or each other. Alexis can't even persuade them to go on a vacation to Disney World. Unfortunately no one is prepared when Adam gets sick again. Will his health improve, or will he lose his battle? And can Alexis save the family?

This book made me think about all the children in the world who are dealing with life-threatening illnesses. There is a freshman at my school who had leukemia when she was little and she immediately came to mind. If you like reading inspirational stories about young people, read THE TIME CAPSULE to find out what happens to Adam and his family.
