Although well written the story line just did not ring true. Dandi, very naïve young girl, is forced to work at a strip club or be sent to jail by a crooked cop. She can't run away because the owner, a mobster, keeps her locked up when she isn't performing. She loves to dance and is video taped, which winds up on Tweeter with her stage name of Angel Baby. Then one night she meets Lucas, a sex therapist, at the club and she gives him a hot lap dance to convince him to help her. When things go wrong she manages to escape the club and winds up in his car. He takes her to his cabin for protection still believing she is a hooker from the strip club. They get snowed in and love results.

He finds out that she is not a hooker, in fact a virgin, and he wants to have a relationship. However, the dance video from the club is seen by his employer and he is given the order to stop seeing her or lose his chance for a well deserved promotion to partner. Dandi over hears this and runs away to save him from blowing his opportunity. She heads to Louisiana where her family lives. Her bus has an accident and she loses her memory of the events at the club and Lucas.

5 years later in Louisiana, Lucas is a clients wedding when he meets Dandi again. she has a 5 year old daughter she named Lucy (get the name connection) - his child. She doesn't remember him so she doesn't know who her daughters father is either. Lucas is afraid to confront her memory loss so he proceeds to woo her all over again. He also wins the heart of his daughter in the process. They fall in love again and he asks her to move in with him, planning to ask her to marry him at a Man of the Year award ceremony being held in his honor.

In the mean time Dandi is accidentally shown the video from her Angel Baby days and suddenly gets her memory back. At the award ceremony she feels that people know about her past and it will hurt Lucas's future again. She gets up to run from the ceremony but this time Lucas stops her and gives her that ring. She knows her heart and is now ready to stop running and start a family with Lucy and Lucas.

The bus accident and loss of only part of her memory seems a bit contrived. Than his meeting her at his friends wedding in Louisiana 5 years later also is a stretch. The story is well written and if you just accept the selective amnesia it is a very good story. I only gave it four stars because the characters do not seem to behave the way they are described in the story. She is sexually naïve and takes a beating rather than have sex with customers but immediately gives Lucas a hot lap dance where they both have orgasms. Then she winds up in his car while fleeing the club. She also runs out on him without an explanation. There is a side story about a hit man sent to kill her that goes no where. Too contrived to be convincing but still a good read. I would like to read her other stories since I did enjoy her writing.

Lucas Wagner has had his life mapped out for a while and has worked hard to get where is today. As a leading Dr. in his field, his final quest is just around the corner and he will have everything that he’s ever hope and dreamed for. That was before he met Dandi though. He like hundreds of thousand others had seen the UTube video that went viral called Angel Baby dancing. That video didn’t do her justice though and the first time that he saw her, he fell hard and would do anything for her. Him a Dr. would do anything for a stripper that took his breath away from the moment he saw her.

No matter what Dandi LeBlanc did her life just kept getting worse and worse. Having left home and no family to help her she was doing all that she could to keep her head above water. When recent health issues caused her to need more money she took a job as a waitress at a local strip club but when a song came on that she couldn’t resist dancing to, it lead her into a life that she wanted no part of. Now being held against her consent with no contact with anyone that can help her she is living in a hell that she can’t find a way out of. The moment that she sees Lucas though, she knows that he’s her way out if she can only convince him to take her with him.

I bought this book a couple of weeks back when I saw that it was free for a limited time on knowing that it was book was book 9 in the series. I looked at some of the other reviews and at the time, the ones that I read didn’t mention that it was tied in so closely with the other books. While during most of the book it didn’t bother me, I was lost once Dandi and Lucas was reunited and her family and new friends came into play. That was when you found out about all of the ties and was somewhat lost. I still enjoyed it but I have no doubt that I would have enjoyed it more if I knew all of the people that were mentioned. With that in mind, I highly suggest that you start at the beginning. I have so many books on to be read list that I have already bought but there were certain things that were mentioned with the characters from the other books and I have to admit that I am intrigued by their stories so I will more than likely be purchasing all of them in the near future.
